Great friendly Pub some great meal deals and the staff are friendly and very helpful. I was in the Motorhome and was allowed to park up overnight. There is a park and ride just over the road £4 bus tide all day in 2017 To drive into Edinburgh about 20 to 30 minutes. Will be returning if back this way.

My sister had to wait another 10 minutes for her pizza as the waiter forgot to put it after everyone at the table had received our food, my burger buns was not toasted which made it soggy, I ordered jalapenos and monetary jack on my burger as an add on however it did no appear in my burger, yet still made apparent on the reciept. The chips were hard and almost cold, the liver and bacon did not come with onions, even though the menu said it would. However the value of the meal was great at only £55 for 7 people! This was the only strong point of my experience with old colliery.

After driving past this place on several occasions after doing shopping. We decided to pop in for dinner.
What a fantastic place great menu great food cooked to perfection.
We have been to many places like this one but this is by far the best.
Looks like we have found our new eating place.

Polite curtious and food served quickly and hot.
Love it. We will be back tomorrow for Sunday dinner :-)

This is such a convenient place to eat in the south of Edinburgh. With a bus link straight to the city centre and plenty of parking it's worth a visit.
We've been a few times now and the food and service is consistently good. The staff are very friendly. The menu is good and the specials wall has a great selection and variety.
The two for one offer on all main meals makes the Old Colliery very good value for money, but even if you didn't go for that offer I would say the food is well priced for what you are getting.
I would recommend this place to families and couples alike as it's quiet spacious that it doesn't come across as for a certain crowd.
I would however recommend booking at the weekend as it can get busy at peak times. Although so far we've always been fortunate in getting seated.

I went for breakfast. I was surprised to learn some of the items weren't available so was offered an alternative. Maybe not my first choice but I gave it a go!
The food was bog standard pub food, edible but nothing to write home about.
The customer service however was outstanding. I was served by Darren.
He was polite and attentive without being annoying. Chatty and happy, always great to see somebody smile whilst they're working!
