Oh I have so much to say about this Praxis, where do I begin?
disclaimer: 3 stars for excellent surgical care. everything else was a nightmare.
a) I confess to being a naive privately insured foreigner and not asking beforehand regarding cost of wisdom teeth extraction. I will own up to that
b) 4 wisdom teeth extracted simultaneously. One was complicated due to entanglement of the mandibular nerve. 2 teeths x 1 min each, 1 tooth x 5 min, 1 tooth x 10 min (that's what complicated is). I was billed the highest factor possible for being a complicated patient and taking "too much time"
total bill: >2300 euros for what was a in-out 40 min total procedure.
when I got the bill, it was incredibly detailed and included a lot of procedures that the surgeon did at the same time (or did not do at all): for example, I was billed 300 euros because of a "skin flap" on my tooth, which as the surgeon translated to me meant: she did not leave the bone exposed (nobody does btw). So this was a "principle" bill. sort of as if I was billed for dividing in my head 27/3 before saying it was 9!
c) follow-up and postop care: zero to the left. No instructions on how many times to check in, warning signs for empty socket, what to eat, what not to eat, length and duration of dental hygiene. she did not even tell me to ice my face. I got my postop care protocol from the internet and friends who had gone through this before.
d) I developped empty socket in 2/4 sockets and was in severe pain for 2 weeks afterwards. As a consequence, I had to come in again and repack my wounds three times, and was charged ~65 euros every time for a 3 min packing with gauze. she did not even examine the sockets for infection.
Now if I leave my issue with the exorbitant cost of the wisdom teeth extraction aside:
a) I like that they inject glucocorticoids prior to removal of teeth ==> you do not get any swelling
b) I argued a bit over my bill, and was given a 100 euros reduction. It would be ungracious not to mention it, but she only reduced the factors on the anasthesia procedure.
c) the surgeon was skilled, the nurses were skilled. If you have a complicated procedure and need to have a high trust level in the competency of your surgeon, they have it. make sure to negotiate your bill beforehand.

Dr. Frey ist ein ausgezeichneter Arzt. Meine gesamte Familie ist bei ihm in Behandlung und war stets zufrieden.

Nicht zufriedenstellende Behandlung. Überzogene Nachbehanlungskosten von 800,-zum freilegen ,-entfernen des Häutschens von 2 Implantaten vor dem setzen der Kronen durch den Zahnarzt.
