Could not have had a more perfect dinner, the owner came and chatted with us and we had amazing service. Food was to die for! Came here last year after a long day at the expo and will likely continue to do so every year!

Soooo amazing. The server was super nice and the owner even came to chat with us. We got the butter chicken, shawarma and fish and chips + loved it all

Very average pub food. The place was empty on a Saturday night, which is surprising for a downtown restaurant. The menu is massive and cumbersome. Substitutions are overpriced. The service was adequate and prompt, but you would expect that with an empty restaurant. Not sure how much longer this place will be open.

I've only been during the day or immediately after work (never in the evening) but the atmosphere is always pleasant and the food is really good - fresh and nicely presented. A group from the office had lunch here this week, and everyone enjoyed their meals. To me the only draw back is that all the tables are high, and I dislike being perched on a high chair/stool. But at least they are fairly comfortable.

I haven't had the greatest luck with The Hat. I enjoy the cosy atmosphere, but with a few lacklustre meals I'm having a hard time loving the place.
I believe the owner or manager is really putting passion into the place, I just hope the food can improve. Service was a bit of a miss outside of the manager checking on us, so at least he was aware.
